After a recent “get away from it all trip” I realised that despite moaning about always being at people’s beck and call, I don’t actually like losing signal! If I can switch it back on again, then that’s fine – but to have my phone on and not doing anything useful… EEK!

People do not really want to get away from everything. A trip home for me means staying in a lovely house in the middle of the Lakes – i.e. middle of nowhere! Which means no phone coverage (unless, I have discovered, I’m in the pub – but Mum doesn’t think that’s a good enough reason to get out of Sunday lunch with all of our family – which is a massive headache to get us behaving well – so I must suffer).

I am ashamed to say, that I really cannot live without my phone.
