Communication through postures and facial expressions
If you have brothers or sisters then you can easily relate to how pulling a face at your sibling can make you feel much better – especially if they have just got you in trouble and you pull a face at them behind your parents back.
You can use your facial expression to express emotion, it may be anger or happiness. In the work place it is important to keep your cool and if you are not impressed with one of your colleagues it is more professional to keep your facial expressions to a minimum. For example pulling a funny face behind your boss’s back would not be very professional and could lead to you being disciplined.
A study found that 93% of communication is effective only if you pick up on nonverbal cues. If you are great at reading non verbal cues then you will be able to read people like an open book!
