Negative Body Language = Poor Customer Service
Can you imagine walking into a bar and the bar-person is slumped over the pumps talking to some friends?
You approach the bar and stand there, unattended while they continue to talk, eventually you interrupt and ask to be served. The reaction you get is a look like you have just swore at them, and the customer experience you then receive leaves little to be desired. You leave the bar and sit down, with your visit all ready off to a bad start.
Now compare it to walking in, and as you walk to the bar, they acknowledge you with a smile and ask politely how they can help. You already feel welcomed and this is all down to the first interaction with the bar-person.
All too often in a customer service environment, first impressions dictate how a customer view’s the whole night, so if you as an employee can turn that into a positive rather than a negative then you have more chance of retaining them as a future customer.
So just remember, a smile could be the difference between making or breaking a visit !!
